Helen Glazer graduated cum laude from Yale University with a B.A. in art and earned an M.F.A. in painting from the Mount Royal Program at the Maryland Institute, College of Art, also attending the renowned Skowhegan School of Art. She has exhibited her work nationally, including a solo show of hand-colored photographs in 2012 at the Nailya Alexander Gallery, New York, and has completed two mural commissions. She is a past grantee of the National Science Foundation Antarctic Artists and Writers Program and recipient of an Individual Artist's Award in Photography from the Maryland State Arts Council. Her works are in numerous private and public collections. Helen has also published articles about artmaking and artists, in magazines and journals such as Artes, Artpapers and Feminist Studies, as well as over 30 catalog essays about artists for the Rosenberg Gallery, Goucher College, where she was exhibitions director for 12 years and shepherded the exhibitions program to regional prominence. She created a self-guided tour of the Smithsonian Institution museums on the theme of mythology as a Fellow in Museum Practice in 1994-95. In 1998, Helen left her position at Goucher to concentrate on her own artwork.

2015 Antarctic Artists and Writers Program Grantee from the National Science Foundation, to take photographs of the landscape in Antarctica for seven weeks in 2015 as raw material for prints and 3D digital sculpture.
2015 Rubys Award from the Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance, for producing work related to the Antarctica project.
