I’m continuing to carry the pro-science, pro-environmental protection message wherever I can. So if you’re in the general vicinity of Jamestown, NY, come join us for a reception for my traveling exhibition Walking in Antarctica on Friday, Nov. 15th at the Roger Tory Peterson Institute museum. I’ll be there to give a gallery talk. Reception: 5:30 to 8 pm; talk at 6:30. Through photos and sculptures made from 3D scans of Antarctic ice and rock formations and a first person audio tour, the show transports you to remote places that tourist ships don’t visit. This particular photo was taken near the Erebus Ice Tongue cave, the interior of which is one of those rarely seen places featured in the exhibition.

Jamestown is about an hour’s drive south of Buffalo in Western New York State. The exhibition remains on view through March 16, 2025. The museum is also mounting a display in an adjoining gallery of penguin studies by the renowned ornithological illustrator Roger Tory Peterson whose archive is also part of the museum’s collection.
